Oka Sushi began with a simple idea: Fountain Hills deserved a Japanese restaurant that didn't compromise. Fresh fish flown in daily, rice seasoned just right, and a room that felt like a destination — not just a stop.
What started as a neighborhood sushi bar on Avenue of the Fountains grew into something more. A place where regulars pull up their favorite seat at the bar. Where families celebrate birthdays. Where first dates become anniversaries.
"Good sushi is honest. The rice tells you everything — if someone rushes it, you taste it immediately."
The Fish
We source our fish from trusted suppliers who share our standards. Tuna, salmon, yellowtail, and whatever looks best that morning. When the sea urchin arrives looking perfect, we put it on the menu. When it doesn't, we don't.
That commitment to quality is why you'll sometimes see "seasonal availability" next to certain items. It's not a hedge — it's a promise.
The Room
The 16-seat sushi bar is the heart of the space. Pull up a stool and you'll watch every piece of nigiri formed right in front of you. It's the best seat in the house — though we might be biased.
Beyond the bar, booths for groups of any size, and a heated patio facing the street. We're dog-friendly out back, and genuinely mean it — you'll see the regulars know that.
Omakase
If you want to put yourself in our hands, try the Chef's Omakase — 12 to 15 pieces of nigiri, chef's choice. It changes with the fish. It changes with the season. It's always worth it.
No reservations required, though calling ahead for omakase on weekends is appreciated. We like to know you're coming.
